ERA-EDTA will grant press credentials to journalists employed by accredited media organisations for the purpose of editorial coverage. Official industry spokespersons, staff and communications agents are not eligible for press registration.  

Journalists must submit press credentials (press card) and a letter from the editorial office of the magazine/newspaper verifying that the journalist is being sent to cover the ERA-EDTA congress. A copy of the press card and of the letter from the editorial office should be sent to the ERA-EDTA 2013 press office (Fax +49 3643/ 7764-52; press@era-edta.org ).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: All journalists attending the congress and/or the press events are obliged to hand in a copy of their article (about the congress, the press briefings or symposia of the congress) within 6 month after the congress. The copy can be send to the press office via mail (press@era-edta.org ) or via post or fax (address and contact details see above). Journalists who do not submit an article will be charged the full congress fee after expiration of the deadline. With the delivery of  the press pass, journalists have to sign this agreement.

Press Badges
Pre-registered journalists can pick up their press passes at the press lounge.Journalists can also register there on-site (with their press card and a letter of assignment from the media organisation being represented).

Press briefings 

ERA-EDTA´s  scientific committee has designed an innovative programme. Several media events do reflect on it:


(1) Main Press Conference on Friday 17th May, 11.30 – 12.30 am

Topics will be:

o             Hypertension, Diabetics and CKD – a frequent alliance

o             Focusing on salt: How to eat “Kidney-friendly”?

o             Pediatric Nephrology: How an early diagnosis might beware children of

               dialysis and improve cardiovascular comorbidity

o             Reflux Nephropathy: A major cause of end stage renal disease in children


(2) Press Briefing on the ERA-EDTA´s Working Groups on Saturday 18th May, 17:00-17:45 pm

o             Overview of the ERA-EDTA´s Scientific Working Groups and the 1st Working

               Group Fair

o             European Renal and Cardiovascular Medicine Working Group EURECA-m

               (Prof. Gerard London, Paris/France)

o             The ERA-EDTA Working Group on inherited kidney disorders: WGIKD

(3) Late Breaking Clinical Trials Press Briefing on Sunday 19th May, 10:30 – 11.30

The “Late Breaking Clinical Trials” (LBCT) will be presented in this press briefing. Journalists will be informed about latest research findings and will have the opportunity to speak to the principal investigators of the LBCT.

(4) On the evening of the 18th May, we would like to invite all who join the press conferences to an informal Press Get-together  – please sign up if you wish to attend.

Press Lounge
ERA-EDTA will be providing a fully-equipped press lounge (computers with internet access/ printer). Press folders and other materials as well as refreshments will be available.


Embargo Policy
All LBCT are confidential until officially released by ERA-EDTA in the LBCT sessions of the scientific programme. Unless otherwise noted, all abstracts presented at the ERA-EDTA are embargoed until the date and time of their presentation.
